Our Mission
Our mission is to serve, connect, and empower the Khmer community in the Dallas area by preserving our culture, strengthening community relationships, and creating opportunities for future generations. Through community events, cultural initiatives, partnerships, and volunteer service, we work to celebrate Khmer heritage, support families and businesses, and promote the growth and prosperity of Khmer people.
Our Vision
Our vision is to build a thriving Khmer community in North Texas where every generation feels rooted in their heritage, connected to one another, and empowered to carry Khmer culture, prosperity, and pride forward. We envision a community where Khmer families, businesses, volunteers, and partners come together to preserve our legacy, create opportunities, and strengthen our presence beyond Dallas for generations to come.
Our Story
Khmer Connect TX began as a simple Facebook group created to help local Cambodians in the Dallas-Fort Worth area find and connect with one another. What started as casual conversations soon revealed a deeper need within the community.
Through these connections, our founder met Khmer elders and families who often had no one to turn to for basic but important support, such as interpreting during a doctor’s visit, understanding an official document, or navigating everyday services. In some cases, community members were left vulnerable or taken advantage of because they lacked access to trusted support. While other communities in North Texas had established networks to help their families, the Khmer community did not yet have a central place to turn.
That need became the foundation for Khmer Connect TX. Our founder later connected with Sapier, who shared the same vision and passion for building a trusted community network — a place where someone could ask, “Can anyone help take my mother to her doctor’s appointment?” or “Can someone help me understand this document?” and know they would be met with care, respect, and support.
Today, Khmer Connect TX is working to become that central place for Cambodians across North Texas: a community hub where people can gather, connect, share resources, preserve culture, and support one another across generations.
Who We Serve
Khmer Connect TX serves the Khmer community throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area, with a special focus on bridging generations within Cambodian families. We support elders and families who lived through the Khmer Rouge era, as well as the younger Cambodian-American generation growing up with the responsibility of honoring their heritage while navigating life in America.
We exist to be a bridge between these generations, helping preserve culture, strengthen family and community connections, and create a trusted home base for Khmer families across North Texas.
Khmer Connect TX is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
